„Vulture Culture“ is a video installation which deals with the correlation and contest between culture and destruction and especially our view of destructed buildings in this cycle.
Found footage material of destroyed cities and of ruins is reflected through another layer in the video.
This layer is created through projecting videomaterial onto a surface, followed by a performative interaction or through showing it via a media device.
With this second layer, which includes the appearance of me as an agent, the immersion is interrupted and a level of reflection of the position as a viewer is inserted between the spectator and the imagery.
Which position am I taking as the observer of distant occurrences and what are the images of them actually capable of conveying?
